Intensives
One week intensives are available at various times throughout the year at Transform Pediatric. Research supports the use of short duration, high frequency treatment sessions for gross motor learning during times of rapid growth or change.
Intensive may include daily therapy for 1 week (5 consecutive days) at 30 minutes, 1 hour or 2 hours time slots.
Explosive gains have been seen in motor skills such as learning crawl, walk, to ride a bicycle or after botox or as shown in the videos jumping.
BEGINNING OF INTENSIVE DAY 1
These videos outline proper jumping and landing mechanics taught during 1 week intensive:
Loading: To prepare for a jump, the child is taught to load the ankles rather than other parts of the body.
Depth Control: The child is coached to stop at a specific depth during the loading phase and avoid going any lower before jumping.
Execution and Outcome: Upon jumping, the emphasis is placed on maintaining correct mechanics (bending knees) and equal weight bearing during landing to prevent falling.
Outcome: decreased falling
